“A designer product is usually a product associated with a named, recognized designer i.e. it has brand recognition. it is also supposed to be better designed, trendier, higher fashion. Examples are all the new product lines introduced at Target, and Martha Stewart. Whether or not they are designed by the designer who’s name is attached (all designers claim they are deeply involved, and most provide design direction to a staff of young designers), the implication is the designer has had significant syle input and is vouching for the trend-right fashion.” Vicki Lederman, Product Design and Development Director at Bush Industries (on LinkedIN)
I like the above answer and have reopened the question for comments here. More soon.
